Machine Operator – 2nd & 3rd Shift! (Batavia, IL)

Location: Operations - Batavia, IL


***Set Schedules – No Rotating Shifts – No Last Minute Mandatory OT***

Pay rates up to $26 per hour. Specific pay rate is based on relevant experience, mechanical ability, and shift (shift differential for working overnights).

Seeking to fill 2nd and 3rd shift schedules. Opportunities to work regular OT if you would like.

Eagle Flexible Packaging is currently seeking Machine Operators to learn to safely operate a variety of flexible packaging equipment, including slitters, pouchers, rewinders, and laminators in a safe and clean manufacturing environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate various Converting Department machines such as the Totani Poucher, Bartelt Poucher, Karlville Poucher, Nishibe Poucher, Deacro Slitter, RotoFlex Slitter, Stanford Rewinder, Hudson-Sharp Inno-Lok (wide and narrow formats), and Nordmeccanica Laminator.
  • Continuously monitor machine to ensure it is running efficiently, effectively, and finished product meets all quality standards.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, as needed.
  • Understand all applicable operational documentation and machine interfaces.
  • Know where all safety stops and E-stops are located.
  • Maintain an orderly and organized work area at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members, to include Quality Control, Catchers, Material Handlers, and other Machine Operators.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to set-up and operate a machine.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to stand for all day and lift 75 lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder and stairs.
  • Must be able to hold objects with hands.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Good attendance.
  • Desire to learn.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to do whatever is needed to keep production running smoothly.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.

Pay: $19.00 – $26.00 per hour

  • 401K Plan – Plan entry date is the first of the month following 6 months of service. Eagle provides its employees with a 100% match up to 1% and 50% match up to 6%.
  • Company Paid Short Term Disability – The Short Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Company Paid Long Term Disability – The Long Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Life Insurance – The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children.
  • Vacation/PTO: The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment.
  • 6 Company Paid Holidays – Eligible after 60 days of employment.
  • Sick Leave – Eligible for paid sick days at the rate of 3 days (24 hours) per year after 6 months of service (prorated for per the calendar year).
