Maintenance Manager

Location: Management - Waupun, WI


Eagle Flexible Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Manager who will plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of projects related to the Maintenance Department. Oversee all major mechanical, electrical & process control system and maintenance activities, including system improvements, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause determination, and corrective action implementation. Work closely with upper management and all other stakeholders to make sure that the scope and direction of all projects and activities are on schedule.

Specific Duties:

  • Oversee all Maintenance Department functions, including prioritization, operation, administration, technical supervision, and management of maintenance projects.
  • Manage all Maintenance Department team members, including developing and executing training plans as well as developing and delivering reviews and performance improvement action plans.
  • Coordinate installation of production equipment with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance work on all equipment and maintain and manage the machinery logs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment; analyze maintenance problems and equipment / part failures; and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Manage and maintain spare part inventory.
  • Manage and maintain company tools and test equipment.
  • Install and retrofit equipment while minimizing costs.
  • Ensure that all Food Safety related maintenance is performed at regular intervals.
  • Manage all building and grounds maintenance.
  • Control all areas of production costs in order to meet manufacturing cost / budget targets and continually challenge and reduce costs by all means of elimination of waste, reduced overtime, etc.
  • Manage and use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for parts, preventative maintenance, and asset management, including system configuration, establishing best practices, and training new users.
  • Document maintenance procedures and instructions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources needed for maintenance projects and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scope.
  • Minimize company exposure and risk on projects.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Propose and design upgrades to existing machinery.
  • Work with a team during repair, installation, and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Keep Maintenance and project teams well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience, including maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including proven understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated strong relevant troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of the operating principles of and ability to troubleshoot the following: PLCs; high voltage and low voltage circuitry, pneumatic and mechanical systems, and test equipment and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficient keyboarding/typing skills, including ability to manage a high level of email correspondence and data entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with proven ability to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes on-call responsibilities to address equipment breakdowns, providing both remote and onsite maintenance support as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license is required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in Engineering or other related field from a craft apprenticeship, technical college, or other relevant educational institution.
  • Leadership experience, preferably experience managing or supervising a technical staff.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Experience with flexographic printing.
  • Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
  • Experience managing large-scale maintenance projects.

Additional Information: This position will primarily work weekday 1st hours, but flexibility to work on-call and on weekends as needed is required.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year

  • 401K Plan – Plan entry date is the first of the month following 6 months of service. Eagle provides its employees with a 100% match up to 1% and 50% match up to 6%.
  • Company Paid Short Term Disability – The Short Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Company Paid Long Term Disability – The Long Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Life Insurance – The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children.
  • Vacation/PTO: The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment.
  • 6 Company Paid Holidays – Eligible after 60 days of employment.
  • Sick Leave – Eligible for paid sick days at the rate of 3 days (24 hours) per year after 6 months of service (prorated for per the calendar year).
